Authentic Italian Osso Buco Recipe

Authentic Italian Osso Buco Recipe that you can make from scratch in your slow cooker. It will be so juicy and delicious that it will fall off the bones on its own. For an authentic taste, consider serving the Osso Buco near a plate of Italian creamy polenta.

Needed Ingredients:

- 4 veal shanks - Salt & Black - All-purpose flour - Olive oil - Carrots - Onions - Celery Stalks - Capers - Anchovies - Tomato sauce - Vegetable broth

Bring the meat to the room temperature.

Leave in a dark, cold place.

Season the meat with salt and pepper.

Pass the meat through the flour on both sides.

Shake the flour excesses.

Brown the meat on both sides.

You can use your slow cooker on high heat or just a pan with a thick bottom.

Prepare the vegetables.

In the meantime, you can grate the carrots, and onions.

Fry the vegetables.

In the same pan in which you browned the meat, fry the vegetables with capers and anchovies until they vegetables becomes soft and anchovy fillets melts.

Pour tomato sauce.

Pour over the fried vegetables tomato sauce, put meat into the slow cooker.

Add broth or water.

Pour over water or vegetable broth until you will cover the entire surface of the meat with liquid.

Let it simmer.

Cover the slow cooker and leave it simmer for about 3-4 hours.

At the end, the meat should fall off from the bones on its own.

Highly recommend serving the Osso Buco near a plate of Italian polenta.
