Sicilian Stew with Sausages and Beans

Authentic Sicilian stew of homemade sausages and canned beans cooked in the slow cooker. This is a one pan dish as we will cook everything in the slow cooker, just at different temperatures. It is so easy to make that you can't go wrong with this recipe. If you didn't try it yet, you should give it a chance!


Fry the sausages at high temp to give them a nice crust. Take them off the slow cooker and set them aside.

Now, fry for about 5 minutes the onions with celery, garlic and chili peppers.

Pour over them the tomato sauce and cook it for about 10 minutes.

Add canned beans. I used two types just for additional colors.

Add a glass of water and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix everything well and adjust the salt and pepper if is needed.

Return the sausages into the slow cooker. And cook everything for 2 hours at low temp or 195F.
