Traditional Focaccia Recipe

Are you asking what is so special about focaccia bread? Well, I highly encourage you to give it a try! It is very easy to make the traditional focaccia at home using only a few simple ingredients and a little bit of patience. You can use this recipe as a base, then to experiment with different toppings on it.

Ingredients:

- All-purpose flour - Warm water - Olive Oil - Salt - Sugar - Dried Active Yeast

- Rosemary - Coarse Sea Salt - Olive Oil

In a bowl, pour ⅓ of a cup of warm water (100°F), yeast, a tbsp of flour, and a tbsp of sugar. Leave it to increase in volume.

Don't use hot water because you will kill the yeast.

Mix the dry ingredients, then add one cup of water. Next, add oil, and the leaven. Mix and knead the dough well.

Add a little bit of oil above the dough and cover it with cling film.

Leave the dough to increase in size. It should increase about 3 times.

Grease the baking tray with oil and pour the dough on it.

Grease with olive oil by using your fingers, make holes in the dough.

Add over coarse salt and rosemary.

Bake the focaccia in your oven for about 30-40 minutes or until it will become well browned on  top.
