Notes
Prep Ahead: Phyllo pastry dries out quickly. To prevent this, have all your fillings prepared and ready before you open the pastry package. This way, you can assemble the appetizer swiftly without having the pastry exposed for too long. If your phyllo is dried already, cover the dough with a wet clean kitchen towel to help it moisten back.
Customize Your Fillings: While this recipe calls for a specific set of ingredients, feel free to add in your favorites. Olives, sundried tomatoes, or even a hint of spice with jalapenos could make a delicious addition.
Serve Warm: These appetizers are best served warm, straight out of the oven (after a brief cooling period). This is when the cheese is at its gooey best, and the phyllo pastry retains its lovely crispiness.
Presentation Matters: These pastries look as delightful as they taste. Serve them on a wooden board for a rustic feel or a chic platter for a more refined presentation. A sprinkle of fresh herbs or a dash of pepper can also add to the visual appeal.
