Notes
When cutting your cauliflower, aim for even-sized florets. This ensures uniform cooking, so every bite is perfectly tender.
When adding your brie or chosen substitute, spread it evenly throughout the dish. This way, every spoonful has a gooey, cheesy delight.
Brie cheese has its own saltiness. Be mindful when seasoning your gratin. It's always easier to add more salt later than to try and correct an overly salty dish.
To ensure an even distribution of flavors, consider mixing the cauliflower, cheese, cream, and nutmeg in a large bowl before transferring to your baking dish.
Using a shallow casserole dish can give a better cheese-to-cauliflower ratio, ensuring you get that lovely creamy texture and golden crust in every bite.
While this is a minimal-ingredient recipe, a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives before serving can add a pop of color and a touch of freshness.
